Appointment Of Assistant Registrars Of Births And Deaths

Under the powers granted by Section 3 (2) of the Births and Deaths Registration Act, the Minister with responsibility for Personal Status will appoint any public officer who works at the Civil Status and Registration Office (CSRO), as Assistant Registrars of Births and Deaths, effective from 24th July 2024. These appointments will be subject to the Registrar’s discretion.

All other public officers previously appointed by name as Assistant Registrars of Births and Deaths will retain their status only if they are currently working at the CSRO. This change reflects an updated policy to streamline the appointment process for Assistant Registrars of Births and Deaths.
